Vinyl
Vinyl floors come in two types: waxable and no-wax. Swiffer® WetJet® can be used on both.
Swiffer WetJet system can be used on floors with manufacturer applied coatings. Some people apply their own floor shines or wax to their vinyl floors. If you have applied floor shine or wax to your vinyl floor, test WetJet on an inconspicuous area to ensure the results you want.
Tile
Care for tiles as you would any hard surface in your home. Swiffer® WetJet® can be safely used on all sealed tile floors.

Marble
Marble floors are natural and usually have a shiny finish, so you should not use products that contain a lot of acid such as bathroom cleaning products or vinegar. This acid may cause a chemical reaction, which could permanently damage your marble floors.
It usually requires a lot of water to clean marble, but marble’s high tendency to repel water can lead to streaks and water spots that appear as the floor dries. For optimal cleaning results with the WetJet system, and better floor appearance when completely dry, use higher doses of WetJet solution to create a wetter surface.
Marble floors are often wax or shine enhanced. Marble waxes and shine enhancing products will leave a coating on the floor that could be disturbed by Swiffer® WetJet®. WetJet solution is designed to remove dirt and residues without leaving a dulling residue but it could also remove coatings applied to marble by waxes or shine enhancing products. We recommend you remove coatings on your marble floors according to manufacturer's recommendations prior to using Swiffer WetJet.

Wood
First, determine whether your wood floor has a polyurethane coating or is finished with wax or oil. To do this, choose a small, inconspicuous portion of the floor. Put a small drop of water on the floors, and allow it to evaporate to dryness. If a small white circle appears after full evaporation, then the wood floor probably has a wax or oil finish. The small circle can be removed, if it appeared, by reapplying a small amount of wax finish and then buffing.
Oil or Wax Finished or Unfinished Wood Floors are porous and absorb water very quickly. For this reason, we do not recommend the use of Swiffer® WetJet®. Contact your floor manufacturer or retailer for the best ways to clean and maintain these floors.
Polyurethane Finished Wood Floors can be cleaned with Swiffer WetJet. Like all wood floors you should not let water sit on the surface for an extended period of time, so be sure to clean up spills and other water spots as quickly as possible.
Laminate Floors are made with layers of material with thin wood or vinyl with a wood design as the top layer. These floors are pre-finished and are generally more dent resistant than traditional wood floors. Care for laminate floors the same way you would care for Polyurethane Finished Floors.
For optimal cleaning results with Swiffer WetJet on Polyurethane Finished or Laminate Floors:
1. Dry dust prior to wet cleaning to reduce particulate matter that may scratch over time.
2. Apply WetJet solution over a small area (0.5 m x 0.5 m) by pressing the spray button for two seconds.
3. Move to the next area to be cleaned. |
