| Money Saving Grooming Tips |
| How much money can we really save by grooming at home? |
On average, Americans spend $40 - $65 on professional pet grooming services each month, but they could save more than $700 a year by grooming at home. You simply need a grooming kit and a good pet hair clean-up tool, for example the new Swiffer Sweeper, for a one-time cost of about $30.
Not only will grooming at home save you money, but it’s a great way to bond with your pet. |

| Home Grooming Tips |
Can you share some simple grooming tips we can do from home? |
| I have four simple grooming tips for use at home: |
- The first is to make your dog comfortable (groom inside and lay down a towel)
- The second is to give them a good brushing.
- The third is to give them a warm bath.
- The fourth is to finish with one final brushing to remove knots and tangles.
|
|
| What tools do you use for grooming? |
| I have five “go-to” tools for my pets’ at-home grooming sessions: |
- A rake (brush with one to two rows of teeth, used to pull out tangles and straighten hair)
- A paddle brush
- Trimming sheers
- Nail clippers
- And the NEW Swiffer Sweeper, which does a great job of cleaning up any pet hair, shedding or messes left behind.

Do you have any good anecdotes or tips from your years
of grooming? |
I actually have two Capuchin Monkeys that I can clean in less than five minutes! I give them a bath in the sink, have them stand in place and use an extended nozzle to clean.
During the colder months, I take my three small Alligators indoors for daily baths. |

| Hollywood Insider Tips |
You’ve been working behind the scenes on the new movie “Hotel for Dogs”… Can you
share any tips on how Hollywood keep their animals happy on set?
|
| It’s not all glitz and glamour! There is hard work involved in getting animals camera ready and it takes time to get those pooches looking their best. As the on-set groomers, we are basically |
the hair and make-up department for these animals. Something you might not know is that we sometimes use multiple pups to play one dog on screen, so we not only have to make them look great, but we sometimes have to make sure they look identical!
And, as you can imagine, we have a lot of people living on set during filming, so we’re also responsible for cleaning up hair and other pet messes to keep the studio tidy. We use the new Swiffer Sweeper to make sure we get it completely clean - because hair can hide in corners and under furniture just like at home! |

| Tips on Choosing a Pet |
Can you share advice or some tips with people who want to own a pet, but don’t really
know what kind of pet is best for their living space? And what are some things to
consider when a new pet enters your home?
|
|
I tell people to consider three things:
- The commitment you can make to this animal
- Food, exercise and play
- The size and location of your home. Don’t bring a large Saint Bernard into a small city apartment.
When thinking about daily maintenance, a cleaning tool I’ve found to work great on picking up pet hair and any pet messes is the NEW Swiffer Sweeper because it completely cleans my floors and no one’s the wiser that I have 9 dogs, 1 cat, 2 monkeys and 3 alligators! |

| Tips for the President and VP |
We know that President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are welcoming new pets to their home. What advice would you want to share with them?
|
Tips For Barack:
I’ve heard his daughter is allergic, so I would recommend she consult a physician to determine the breeds that are “hypoallergenic.” I know that Mr. Obama is considering a Labradoodle and Portuguese Water Dog, but two others I would recommend are the Poodle and the Chinese Crested Hairless.
Tips For Biden/Both Men:
Well, when people talk about the challenges these men face, they might be overlooking the task of house breaking! I recommend they start by limiting their pups’ access. While training the new pets, keep them on the White House lawn or floors that can be wiped up with a Swiffer. Obviously, no carpets!
